Drain the Ocean – Study the Ocean’s Topography

Drain the Ocean is a series that is currently airing on the National Geographic Channel. The companion website has some excellent resources for science teachers. On the Drain the Ocean website you will find videos, interactive maps, photos, and fact sheets about the Ocean’s floor. On this website you will also find links to National Geographic’s Google Earth files documenting the world’s oceans.

Also linked Drain the Ocean is Ocean Now. Ocean Now is a National Geographic expedition that is studying the “last healthy, undisturbed places in the ocean.” Your students can follow the expedition on the Ocean Now website as well as submit questions to members of the expedition.
