Yesterday, I had an absolutely amazing conversation! Three of my colleagues and I discussed the shifts we have seen in the way that students form relationships and what those shifts mean. The conversation provided me with an opportunity to share my experience of building a professional learning network through social networking websites. As I drove home last night I reflected on the value of the professional learning network I’ve built for myself online. Not a day goes by that I don’t learn something new from my online professional learning network.
Today, I propose to you an idea that has been shared on other blogs, a social networking link swap. The idea is simple, leave a comment with a link or links to the social networking services you use most. By leaving a comment with a link to your profile others can follow you and you can follow others. Doing this on a blog about technology for education gives you some assurance of finding other people interested in the same topics that you’re interested in.
I’ll get it started by posting a link to my Twitter and FriendFeed profiles.
